This is Nick Cave in a suit and tie, looking directly into the camera with one eye hidden in shadow.

It is an unusually tight portrait, with his face filling virtually the whole frame. The lighting is hard and directional, picking out the texture of his skin and hair while leaving much of the background completely black.

There isn't much room for him to hide in this photograph, and Nick doesn't look particularly interested in trying.
