Artwork Title: Public Enemy - 1988 - Hands Up

Flavor Flav and Chuck D come straight at the camera while Professor Griff, Terminator X and the two S1W members stand behind them. Flav has his trademark clock around his neck (What time is it boyeee?!), Chuck has his baseball cap pulled down over his eyes and both of them seem to have decided that getting as close to my lens as possible was the way to do the photograph.

I had spent most of the previous night sitting up talking with Chuck D and Professor Griff about politics and revolution, so I wasn't exactly operating at peak efficiency the following morning. I was about five minutes late when I arrived and the entire entourage were waiting for me, tapping their watches. I've photographed a lot of bands over the years, but Public Enemy remain the only ones who have ever chided me for lateness.
